The Wine Appreciation Group meets once a month, usually on the evening of the third Friday, from 6.30 – 8.30. It is an informal tasting group whose members enjoy a glass of wine and would like to taste wines from the different regions of the world. We have a theme for each meeting devoted to a particular country or region and as well as enjoying the wines we taste, we also look at the history of the wine making in that area. Members bring wines they have liked or want to try, or we compare similar wines from our local supermarkets for the table at home. There is no specialised tasting course. Our aim is to widen our knowledge of the wines available to us and at the same time enjoy the acquisition of this knowledge!
